Matthew Boutda - Doctoral Recital
As part of his Doctor of Music degree in Choral Conducting at McGill University, Matthew Boutda will present his final doctoral recital, Voices of the City: Toronto's Choral Evolution Through Its Composers. Drawing on archival research, historical analysis, and performance, the recital traces the development of Toronto's choral sound from the early twentieth century to the present day.
Featuring works by influential Toronto composers spanning multiple generations, the program explores the interconnected roles of choral organizations, music education, and composition in shaping the city's musical identity. Through a carefully curated sonic narrative, the recital highlights the artistic voices, institutions, and traditions that have contributed to Toronto's rich and evolving choral landscape while celebrating the composers whose music continues to define and inspire the community today.

Written during the final months of Mozart's life, the Requiem has captivated audiences for centuries with its dramatic intensity, emotional depth, and timeless beauty.
Pro Coro Canada - Concerto 1666
As part of his appointment as Apprentice Conductor with the National Youth Choir of Canada, Matthew Boutda will appear as Guest Conductor with Pro Coro Canada under the mentorship of Michael Zaugg. This partnership will provide the opportunity to work with one of Canada's leading professional choral ensembles in a season subscription performance featuring music by contemporary and historical British and Canadian composers. The program will centre on 1666, a major work by acclaimed composer and recorder virtuoso Mathias Maute for 8–12-part choir and cello, inspired by texts surrounding the Great Fire of London.

Conductor Lydia Adams will lead workshops in the afternoon for all interested singers and musicians, rehearsing two or three pieces of music for all workshop participants to perform with the Elmer Iseler Singers at their evening concert.
